Registration: Veterans Court Advocacy and Mentoring Program (VCAMP)

Registration for the second Veterans Court Advocacy and Mentoring Program (VCAMP) of 2017 is now open.

Mental Health America of Greater Houston invites veterans from across the state to join us
November 1st through 3rd for a three-day training at Combined Arms.

 

VCAMP focuses on:

  • training veterans to become volunteer Veteran Court Mentors,
  • providing behavioral health education and innovative tools and technical assistance to develop local programs, and
  • increasing capacity for existing veterans treatment courts.

Workshop topics include:

  • suicide prevention and intervention,
  • strategic planning,
  • family resiliency,
  • substance use,
  • mentoring skills,
  • resource coordination, and
  • mindfulness.

Prior to attending VCAMP, individuals must be endorsed by a Military Veteran Peer Network (MVPN) Peer Services Coordinator.
