BHACA Visits Integrated Health Care Partnership Clinic in Bastrop
On May 5th, the Greater Houston Behavioral Health Affordable Care Act (BHACA) Initiative held a site visit to an integrated health care partnership clinic in Bastrop, Texas. The BHACA Initiative is a collaborative endeavor of the Network of Behavioral Health Providers and Mental Health America of Greater Houston. The site visit allowed participants from Houston-area behavioral health and primary care provider organizations to observe firsthand a successful integrated health care partnership between two organizations, Community Health Centers of South Central Texas (CHCSCT, a federally qualified health center) and Bluebonnet Trails Community Services (BTCS, a community mental health center). Staff from CHCSCT and BTCS shared information about their journey towards integration and the practices and processes that they put in place to enhance collaborative care.
Representatives from a variety of health care agencies attended the event to learn from this exemplary integrated health care partnership and bring back to their respective places of employment new best practices for integrated health care.
