Chronic Illness and Mental Health
Trainees will learn the following:
Common mental health issues and identify their signs and symptoms
Complex relationship between mental health and chronic illness
The impact of mental health issues on a person with a chonic illness as well as learn how to support an individual with chronic illness and his/her caregivers/family members in meeting their mental health needs.
The intended training audience is social workers, case managers, other mental health and social service professionals, as well as medical support personnel such as community health workers. As detailed psychopharmacology will not be discussed in this training, it is not intended for advanced medical professionals, such as physicians or registered nurses.
Cost for the training is $10.
CEUs are available for LMSW/LCSWs, LPCs, LMFTs and LCDCs for an additional $5.
Payment is due on the day of the event by exact cash or check.
Registration will begin at 12:30 pm.
MHA is located on the 8th floor of the Enterprise Bank building, 2211 Norfolk. Visitor parking is available on the first floor of the parking garage and along Norfolk. Please do not park in the post office parking lot across the street, as you may be towed.
