Mental Health and Aging

Mental Health America of Greater Houston's training on "Mental Health and Aging" provides information on common behavioral health concerns among older adults. Participants will learn about symptoms, risk factors, screening, treatment options, and prevention strategies for depression in the senior population, as well as how to distinguish grief, depression, and dementia. The training will also cover anxiety disorders and substance use among older adults.

This training is intended for an audience who works with older adults and does not have a mental health background - for example, social service professionals, case managers, community health workers, home health aids, and caregivers. Mental health professionals are welcome to attend but should be aware that the training will cover basic mental health concepts and, as such, CEUs will not be provided.

Cost for the training is $10. Please bring check or exact cash to the training. Checks may be made out to

Mental Health America of Greater Houston.

REGISTRATION WILL BEGIN AT 9:30 AM.

THE PRESENTATION WILL BEGIN AT 10:00AM.
