Webinar: Best Practices in Peer Support and Peer Recovery Coaching

Thursday, March 28, 2013
1–2:30 p.m. Eastern Time

Services and supports provided by peers are a vital link between systems that treat mental health
and/or substance use conditions and the larger communities in which people endeavor to achieve and sustain a meaningful life. Peers operate differently from others in the behavioral health workforce. Peers share their lived experiences and their recovery stories in an effort to support others in finding their particular pathway to recovery.

This webinar will present examples of practices used by peer specialists and peer recovery coaches to
assist others to achieve their recovery goals. Practices presented in this webinar include:

  • Emotional Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • Peer-Provided Recovery-Oriented Employment Services
  • Vet-to-Vet Support Program
  • Wellness Coaching

With implementation of health reform, peer recovery support services are expected to be in much
greater demand.
