Center for School Behavioral Health Advocacy Task Force Legislative Update - 5.16.17

Friends,

We need your help - now more than ever.

For 127 days, we have worked together to ensure legislation providing vital services and supports for Texas' youth became law this session.

Because of your dedication, House Bill 2623 (Allen, Alma | Thompson, Senfronia) and House Bill 3887 (Coleman) have been voted out of the House and are awaiting a hearing before the Senate Education Committee.

BOTH BILLS MUST BE HEARD ON THURSDAY, OR THEY WILL DIE IN COMMITTEE

We've come too far to let that happen. These bills deserve a chance to be heard.

As soon as possible, please call Chairman Larry Taylor and the Senate Education Committee and let them know that you support House Bill 2623 (Transition Services) and House Bill 3887 (Trauma Training). Ask them to make sure they are heard on Thursday's calendar.

Senate Education Committee: Phone: (512) 463-0355

Senator Zaffirini is sponsoring both bills in the Senate.

This is the most important ask we have made of you since January. The clock is ticking and we need you to take action. If you haven't made a call, sent an email or posted a tweet, please consider doing so now - it might be your last chance.

Thank you,

Annalee Gulley
